Piano Lessons for Adults
Unlike the common perception about learning an instrument from childhood, at London Piano Tutors we believe it’s never late to start learning an instrument. According to our experience in teaching piano in London for over ten years, adult students can in fact learn to play piano faster than kids! The reason why is because as an adult not only you will grasp the musical subjects much quicker but also the muscles and fingers coordinate better too. What adult piano learners find more challenging is connecting the mind to the specific fingers and hand positions. However with practise and patience music soon starts to become very rewarding. Here at London Piano Tutors we aim to provide the quickest, easiest and the most practical methods to learn piano for adults.
How Does It Work
On your first lesson we will focus on getting a complete and thorough picture of your abilities, music genre that you like and your strengths and weaknesses on the instrument. If you are a beginner we will give you a crash course on reading the notes first and then continue with learning some easy pieces for piano. We constantly adjust our teaching methods along the way and retune the lessons to fit your requirements.
Whether you are a complete beginner or have previous experience playing piano and looking to sharpen your skill, we have the right answer for you!
we take a practical approach on learning piano and start with learning pieces right from the beginning! Piano Lessons for Kids
Piano uses both clefs at the same time while other instruments use only one clef at a time. As a result a piano student can read the notes written for any other instruments as well as piano. Piano has the biggest range among the music instruments, which is a great benefit on developing a musical ear. Playing piano has a lot of academic advantages. Namely many grammar schools have certain requirements on music skills and award extra points on application of student who can play an instrument.
How Does It Work
For older pupils playing piano can significantly improve the self-esteem, and help them learn a practical new skill. It also improves their coordination, memory and concentration.
The consistency of the piano lessons is one of the most crucial aspects of learning the instrument. We recommend having at least one lesson per week. This will give the student enough time to practise on the pieces that we learn on each session.
Once the pupil passed the grade 5 of piano exams, the certificate that he/she receives will be equivalent of GSCE in music. Piano exams also play a significant role on applying for universities as student will be awarded UCAS points when they show they have passed the grade 5 exams.
Theory of Music
Learning theory of music also gives the student a basic understanding of how to compose a new piece of music.
Special Needs
Understanding the rhythm while playing piano helps with coordinations and stress relief. Playing piano also improves the attention and teaches the student to think analytically.
At London Piano Tutors we have experienced teachers who work regularly with students with special needs and understand the challenges and know how to overcome them. We aim towards helping every Londoner to discover their inner musician.
